The ELITE of THE DJIBOUTI ARMY PARACHUTE WINGS
During the 20th may and the 1st of june 2006, 60 soldiers from the Republican guard and the intervention platoon of the Djibouti national police force were formed at the 13th "demi-brigade" of the french foreign legion to obtain there french parachute wings.
Formed by the parachute jump masters of the infantry company, the stagiaires passed their TAP 1 physicals tests (arm flexion and extension, pull-ups and rope climbing) and their TAP 2 tests (1500 meter et 8000 meter run in under 1 hour and with a sac of 11 kilos). They were then taught, to equip themselves with the parachute 696-26, to jump out of the plane, to effectuate all of the operations during the descent and of course adapt a good position while landing. During the next few days after the theoretical training the stagiaires effectuated 5 jumps in the Golf zone from a Transall C160.
Those that passed all the tests sucessfully were recompensed and presented their french parachute wings.
